How to Set a USDT Rate Alert: Get a Push When the Price Is Right

Instead of watching the rate all day, set a condition and get a push when the price becomes what you need. Here is how to do it in MetaRates in a minute.

The P2P USDT rate moves by tens of kopecks during the day and sometimes by a whole hryvnia. Checking it constantly is inconvenient, so it is easier to set an alert once and let the service tell you when a suitable price shows up.

Types of alerts

  • Rate: a notification when the buy or sell price of USDT on a chosen exchange goes below or above your value.
  • Dip: the buy price fell a set percentage below the weekly average, so it is cheaper than usual right now.
  • Spread: a cross-exchange bundle appeared whose net profit for your amount is at least the percentage you set. This is for P2P arbitrage.
  • Order: a specific ad appeared with the price, bank and amount you need. This is the most precise option if you look for your bank.

How to set it up in the app

  1. Open the MetaRates app and go to Alerts.
  2. Tap "Enable notifications" and allow them in the browser. On iPhone, first add the app to the Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen), otherwise push is not available.
  3. Tap "New alert", choose the type and set a value, for example "buy at 45.00 or lower".
  4. Save. When the condition is met you get a push and, if you want, a copy in the Telegram bot.

An alert in one sentence

The app has an assistant called Ghosty. Write to it: "notify me when buy USDT below 45" and it creates an order alert for you. Add a bank name, such as "Monobank", to narrow it down.

How to choose a value without getting needless pushes

  • Look at the range the rate had over the last 7 days (the rate page has a chart) and set the threshold near the lower third of that range.
  • Do not set the threshold too close to the current price: moves of a few kopecks will flood you with notifications.
  • For large trades, add the amount to an order alert so you only see ads that fit it within their limits.

Limits

Each account has a limit of active alerts of every type (for example up to 10 rate alerts and up to 5 order alerts). Delete outdated ones to create new ones. A push does not guarantee that the ad is still valid: check the price and limits on the exchange before the trade. This is not financial advice.
